Welcome to my new blog. This is a practice blog, so I shall be trying out all sorts of interesting things and noting down random bits of information.
The word blog is short for weblog. Blogs are personal websites, with posts – content which is continually being updated – on the home page. A blog may consist of a home page with posts only, but most blogs also contain static pages as well. Blogging applications may also be used for regular websites and digital portfolios, in which case only static pages are used.
Although it is theoretically possible to build a blog using html, Dreamweaver or other web authoring programmes, blogs are usually developed using blogging web-based applications, like:
For further examples of blogging applications, visit John Do’s blog. Blogs may be a personal diary or a site about a particular topic, generally someone’s personal experiences related to a personal topic. Blogs are typical Web 2.0 websites because they are interactive; the interactivity comes in the form of other users being able to comment on your posts.
